Enrique started as a Spanish-Language phenomenon, but quickly parlayed his success in Latin countries to best-selling records worldwide. His self-titled 1995 debut was entirely in Spanish, but sold well in America as well as abroad. His 2001 release “Escape”, however, launched him into the pop music stratosphere. He reached number 2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and went triple platinum in the United States. Enrique hasn’t quite reached the levels “Escape” found since then, but his career has been solid since. He has moved an incredible 137 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin artists ever to record.
