Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, US Congresswoman for Florida’s 18th Distinct, Counsels Cuban Citizen During Hearing Held on Lifting Travel Ban to Cuba
Havana-born Ros-Lehtinen (R) was the first Cuban-American female who was chosen to sit on the U.S. Congress and currently is its only Republican Latina member. She has represented Florida since 1989. After completing four years in the Florida House of Representatives, she then became a state senator. Currently, she serves on the Government Reform and International Relations Committees.
