Roberto Clemente (1934-1972)


Pittsburgh Pirates’ right fielder Roberto Clemente won respect for Latinos everywhere through his excellence on and off the baseball field. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973 due to his decorated career. Yet, Clemente’s baseball game is only part of what made him famous. He continually found ways to help Latin American countries, delivering food and baseball equipment.
