Jose Miguel Battle, Sr. (1929-2007)


Jose Miguel Battle, Sr. worked for the CIA when he volunteered to help in the Bay of Pigs crisis and was among the soldiers captured by Fidel Castro. Battle spent two years as a prisoner of war before he was liberated. Following his release, he returned home to New Jersey, where he established an organized crime ring. In 2004 he was arrested for five murders, drug trafficking, and four counts of arson.
